AUDITION FOR CLONTER

Clonter Opera receives over 200 applications each year from singers interested in auditioning for productions, which include a fully staged opera with orchestra, staged Opera Gala evenings, a series of Masterclasses, culminating in an Opera Showcase evening and a series of Performance and Musical Theatre Workshops presented to children aged 8-18.

The audition panel travel to the major music colleges each Autumn to hear their students.
If you are currently studying at the RSAMD, RNCM, RCM, RAM or GSMD you may submit your application direct to the Opera Course Administrator and you will be advised of the date that the panel will be visiting your college. The
audition panel also holds a day of general auditions in London, which is open to any singer who is embarking on, or returning to, a professional singing career, however, most singers who take part in the opera studios are
under 30.

THE DEADLINE FOR COMPLETED APPLICATION FORMS IS FRIDAY 18TH NOVEMBER.

If you are selected for an audition you will be contacted with a date and asked to select a time for your audition. You will be asked to offer three contrasting items, of which we will ask to hear two arias not exceeding 10 minutes in total, to be sung in your preferred language. At audition the panel may choose to hear all, or part, of the repertoire at their discretion. Your choice of repertoire and presentation will play an important part in the adjudicator’s assessment.

We will be holding a day of general auditions in London on Monday 12 December.

For students at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama we will hold auditions on Tuesday 15 November and we'll be at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland on Thursday 17th November. Application forms are available from the Opera Department Administrator.

We will be holding auditions at the Royal Northern College of Music on Thursday 15 December.

Auditions dates for the Royal College of Music and Royal Academy of Music will be announced shortly.

Unfortunately, owing to the high volume of applications received each year we are only able to contact those singers selected for audition. If you have not been successful this year, please consider submitting your application again the following year.
