Don Giovanni, an amorous nobleman, accompanied by his occasionally faithful servant Leporello, continues his quest of seduction
across Europe. We meet just three of Don Giovanni's conquests in the opera; Donna Anna and Donna Elvira and the local country
girl, Zerlina.
Donna Anna is the first to appear. When her father, the Commendatore, catches Don Giovanni seducing her, he attempts to protect
her honour and in the ensuing duel is fatally wounded by Don Giovanni.
Don Giovanni and Leporello then meet Elvira, who is complaining of her recent betrayal by Giovanni. Once he has recognised her,
Giovanni flees, leaving Leporello to comfort her, by explaining that she is just one of 2,065 conquests.
Don Giovanni is captivated by Zerlina, and despite knowing that she is to be married to Masetto, continues his attempts at
seduction. Disguised as Leporello, he manages to part the local lovers. Elvira repeatedly tries to intervene, while Giovanni
attempts to elude Don Ottavio and Masetto, the two fiancés.
When Giovanni stumbles upon a statue of the dead Commendatore he continues with his confident air. The statue speaks and warns
him that his end is near. Unmoved, Giovanni invites him to dinner. Will the Commendatore reek his vengeance and will Giovanni
receive his just deserts?
