CLONTER OPERA PRIZE
Saturday 31st January 2009 7.15pm
The UK's major conservatoires nominate their most promising singers to compete in the Clonter Opera Prize.
Each of the nominees sing three arias of their choice during the evening. An esteemed judging panel make the over
all choice as to which singer will take home the coveted £2,000 prize money, however, the audience has the opportunity
to have their say by voting for their favourite too.
The audience vote counts as one nomination towards the final result with their favourite singer also receiving a magnum
of champagne.
This popular evening has been running since 1990 in its present form, previous winners have gone on to sing principal
roles in all the world's major opera houses.
Supper served during a 70 minute interval, alternatively guests may book an indoor picnic table and bring a picnic.
