FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

 

Q Where do the performances take place?

A A common misapprehension is that performances are outdoors. However, this is not so. We have a 400 indoor auditorium with undercover dining facilities, including picnics. In the summer, diners may wish to picnic outdoors, weather permitting. 

Q As you are in a rural location, should we take any special precautions on arrival at your carpark?

A With our picturesque location comes the potential for puddles in wet weather. Whilst our carpark is within easy walking distance of the theatre entrance, only the access drive is tarmacked. Please consider your footwear, dependant on the forecast. Designer wellies or stylish galloches are very acceptable.

Q Do we have to wear black tie?

A Absolutely not. You are welcome to wear whatever you like, but many people traditionally do wear black tie on Saturday for the Opera events.

Q Can we buy wine when we get there?

A There is a fully licensed bar, stocking good quality wines, spirits, soft drinks and beer. These can be pre-ordered at the Box Office or purchased on the night. If you are ordering a supper, your drinks must be purchased from the bar. 

Q Do we have to book a picnic table?

A There are un-reserved picnic areas in the theatre, however if you are bringing a picnic, it is advisable to book in advance to ensure that you have somewhere to picnic. There is a charge of £3.50 per person. 

Q Can we buy food on the night?

A Unfortunately not, due to our rural location. Supper and canapé baskets must be pre-ordered either online or via the Box Office, up to a week in advance. 

Q If we are picnicking can we bring our own wine?

A Yes you can.  You can however order it from our fully licensed bar on the night or better still, in advance, to avoid having to provide your own glasses and carry a heavy load.

Q Can we order a different supper for our party?

A If you have a party of ten or more we would do our best and will help with suggestions.

Q Can you cater for special dietary requirements?

A Yes we can. Please specify when ordering your supper from the Box Office.
